I apologize for the huge delay in blogging. Cos and Effect started last week at The University of British Columbia. Cos and Effect is an annual convention that promotes cosplaying and alternative fashion. As I mentioned in a couple posts ago, my friend and I are were selling crafts at the Artist Alley. The past month and half, my friend and I were making polymer clay jewellery almost daily, and I was too exhausted to do anything else. When I went to the convention, I also dressed up as well, since what is going to a convention without a costume? On the first day, my friend and I dressed up as Theodora and Oz from Oz the Great and Powerful.
I bought the red hat and jacket from ebay (free shipping!) and added my own buttons on the jacket.
For my makeup look, I attempted to somewhat recreate Mila Kunis’ Theodora look here.
Products I used to achieve this look are
- Urban Decay Naked Palette- Naked/Buck/Darkhorse
- Kat Von D Tattoo Liner
- Tarte Gifted Amazonian Clay Mascara
- Burberry Natural Bronzer in Warm Glow 001
- Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick in ‘On Fire Red’
My costume was no where near as intense as the people at Cos and Effect, and I love seeing how much effort people put into making their cosplays. Nevertheless, the love of costuming brings people together at these events and I love knowing how we all share the same passion! More costume looks will be updated + a look into my new etsy shop soon!
